The child wants to play
Waiting to be sure his guardian
Stands by.

Alert like a container
Whether it be
Scalding steam,
Icy tears,
Or throttling gyrations.

The space
Within which
The guardian protects
Makes it safe
For the child to let go
And express what is real.
